Let me share some of my findings from playing around with Batch Crafter. First, you can't physically put anything into the bottom inventory, and to my knowledge, that also applies to conduits/hoppers/pulling upgrades. Everything's always gonna end up in the 3x3 grid. The bottom inventory doesn't appear to be doing anything at the moment. Second, there's clearly a lever in OP's screencap, attached to the front of the Batch Inventory, and I'm assuming both states (up/down) have been tried. I have as well, it does pretty much what I was expecting. So it's not the redstone signal that's at fault. Also, Batch Crafter is not going to start crafting unless there's at least 2 of each raw item in their corresponding slot in the grid. It's the sort of mechanism that prevents instantly crafting whatever matching recipe was put before the player has a chance to finish assembling the recipe. Kind of a "yes I confirm, please start making that". It also prevents Batch Crafter from "losing" the recipe when there's no more raw materials to craft from. One of the problems I noticed with pulling/hoppers/conduits is that it does it asynchronously - i.e., when you plug it to a chest full of raw materials, it fill first fill the first used slot on the grid to 64, then the second, then the third, etc. But the problem is, during that time, it will still be crafting. There might be a workaround, though, involing some redstone/EnderIO conduit circuitry (round-robin?) that makes sure it feeds Batch Crafter 1 proper item at a time.
